"Sam the Van"
Renault Master L3H2

More information about the spec of the bus

This camper is totally unique and built with reclaimed and up-cycled materials. Most of the van has been built with old Victorian pine floorboards and year-long dried eucalyptus wood which has given the van its unique charm and rustic cosiness.

Everything else was brand new in the van - the camper is fully insulated and watertight as well as being self-sufficient and running off solar. We installed a voltmeter in the van so we could always keep an eye on your leisure battery.

Kitchen

The 30 litre LPG tank underneath fuels the cooker and the fridge, the tank is easily filled at LPG pumps at petrol stations across UK & Europe. The cooker is standard house size cooker for a roast. The fridge is dual fuel and can be switched from LPG to electricity so there is always fresh veg and a cold beer close to hand - even in the warmest climates.

Water

We installed 3 x 20 litre water tanks, which is easiest for travelling around Europe as it means you are able to fill up from the abundance of spring water fountains as well as in campsites. The wastewater comes out the bottom of the van and can be collected in a bucket. There is also a Kampa Khazi toilet on board.

Cosy-ness

Despite being small the 4kw Louis Wood burner packs out plenty of heat and keeps you warm in wintry nights (even in the snow!). The back doors open fully so you can enjoy the ultimate fresh air and enjoy the views.

With much time, love and care we gave this van a new lease of life.

Testimonial:

"I bought Sam June 2018 and have been working and travelling happily and freely; full-time living in Sam since then! The work that the girls did in renovating my van from a fire van to a cosy home on wheels goes beyond any words.

.

Every detail in my van from the insulation, re & up cycled wood work, the speakers, fridge, oven, toilet, lighting, bed, electrics, solar panel and cupboard space and not forgetting the beautiful jars that are still firmly screwed in even after almost 2 years of travelling through some seriously bumpy and windy places have not budged, everything is still in the same working order that I bought Sam in.

I have never been happier since buying and living in my van. I highly recommend these 2 very skilled women, and if I need any advice on renovating a van in the future they will be the 1st I go to for advice. Thank you Shelly and Issey xxx"
